When creating a new variety of a breed...

comb from what I've been reading.

Leg feathering are you meaning taking it off or putting it on? Putting it on, EASY....taking it off hard

I'm NO expert but from what i've read this seems to be the case

I'm thinking...
I want to breed a single comb feather leg of color A with a rosecomb smooth leg of color B and end up (eventually) with a rosecomb smooth leg of color A.

Sure hope that makes sense.

It makes sense. It would probably be alot easier if you bred it to a clean legged bird of color A. (at least that makes sense to me)

Im not a genetics expert, but Sonoran and Krys are!!

That would be much easier...but therein lies the problem. There are other desirable traits that I want from color A...not just the color. Those desirable traits are shared by both colors.

What breed or color are you trying to make and what do you have to use? Is it faverolle and rosecomb dorking? Atleast tell us the color you want to transfer, the only feather legged single comb bird I can think of that doesnt come in wyandotte for example is salmon faverolle.

French Marans possibly.

Single or rose comb & leg feather etc. are easier to get right than type.

I'm sorry, I should've just said what I am trying to do in the first place.

I want to start a project for Mille Fleur bantam Ameraucanas. I have black bantam Ameraucanas, and I'm just trying to figure out which Mille Fleur breed would work best for the cross. I know it will be a big project, but I think it would be well worth it.

I do have a Mille Fleur Pyncheon bantam roo, but I thought that a breed with the muffs/beards would be a better cross initially. Plus, this little Pyncheon roo is VERY aggressive...not a trait I particularly want passed on.
