When did your earliest hen lay her first egg? If you could comment with her breed that would give some perspective! If you want to put the ages & breeds of more than one in the comments, I would love that too!

Thought it would be cool to see the different experiences! My hens are about 14 weeks and a few are getting wattles and slightly red (the ISAs and Barred Rocks), so I’m hoping we will get eggs before the winter from at least one or two of them!

I got 2 leghorns, white in April as day old chicks. They started laying within a day or 2 off each other at almost 18 weeks to the day. Then my bantam buff Cochin laid her first at 17 weeks. I have a little gray and white bantam not sure her breed, she laid her first at 21 weeks. My welsummers started laying at 22 1/2 weeks and 23 weeks (2 of them)
