When do jumbo coturnix start layinf eggs?

my new batch just started laying....well, 4 outta 150 started laying. anyway, they're around 6 weeks give or take a day or two...

one was actually bigger than average which kinda surprised me (kinda felt sorry for the hen...first egg out and OUCH!) the others have been between average and below. incidentally, i got a tiny egg the same time from one of my full grown breeders the same day...silly birds

I agree with fitzy...6 weeks or there abouts. I've had them lay as early as 5 1/2 weeks, and never more than 8 weeks. Of course, this time of year, lights wouldn't hurt, and make sure you're feeding something like a 28% gamebird starter.

6 To 22 Wks--- Depends On Breed And Conditions. The Bigger Birds Have A Tendancy To Start A Little Later. Usually 8 Wks Or So, But You Never Can Tell..... Since You Want The Eggs To Sell It'll More Than Likely Be The 22 Wks Give Or Take A Week..... (at Least Ways Thats How It Always Happens To Me..)
