When do these breeds start to lay?

I have buff orpingtons, white leghorns, a barred rock, and a red producer. At what age should I expect them to start laying eggs? And will they look any different as laying time approaches? Like, will their combs get more red, or will they look chubbier, etc? They free range all day long...does that mean I'll have to look for eggs everywhere they range? Do they mostly lay during the day or night? Should I expect less eggs because they free range and get so much exercise?

Oh.....the expectations of that first egg.

Your production red should be laying at 15-16 weeks....mine are 12 and I'm waiting too...
