When do you switch to Pellets?

I have a flock of 25 RC RIR's that are going on 12 weeks old and growing nicely on medicated chick food and I want to switch to non medicated. Usually I don't think too long and hard about something like this but I am a little more particular with these birds.
We have 18% "all flock" pellets that I was thinking about switching so maybe there wouldn't be as much waste as chick crumbles. Do you think it is too early to switch???
They are also on pasture free range and have access to garden veggies and the such as I toss it to them.

All flock might have to much calcium for them. I'm assuming that all flock would have extra for laying birds. Check the calcium content of the chick feed and the all flock to see how much of a difference there is.

You can buy Grower, sometimes, in a pellet. Raiser is also available in a pellet. Some Gamebird feeds are also pelletized.
Those look to be beautiful birds. It is unlikely they will lay earlier than 22-26 weeks, thus they'd have no need for Layer for a good while longer.

If you do choose a high protein feed like Gamebird, you can always "cut" the protein by feeding some whole or cracked grains or scratch to make up 25% of their feed intake. It is done all the time to average out a proper level.
