When Geese Attack!!!!!!

SO.......My 2 Pyrenees dogs were totally minding their own business....asleep in the yard and under the porch when all of a sudden one starts yelping and the other one is growling and the geese are attacking
These geese have gotten so mean. The big dog was defending himself and had a hold of one of them by the neck but was not hurting him. The smaller dog just wanted to get away. I had to go out and break them up and run the geese into their pen.
These are NOT the sweet little babies I brought home last year

What kind of geese? My Sebbies (9 mos old) are new here and don't act like they'd ever attack- I sure hope not anyways! (And this is breeding season too.)

They are Emden I think...The white ones. We got them as day old babies. So sweet and cute. I think they are a pair although there have been no eggs yet.
They have become the bullies of the barnyard. Forget the dogs...it's the geese you have to look out for

maybe it's breeding season for them too and she's laying eggs somewhere, he's protecting her and they hate anyone outside now??? Do you have a penned area for them for time-outs?

I sure haven't found any eggs anywhere or seen them hanging aroung in any certain area. They do have a pen and a house that they get closed up in at night.
They are in the pen now. I am not sure at what age they would start to lay

Oh My!!! I have never heard of geese attacking DOGS before!!! That's pretty funny, actually.

They can start laying their first year but might wait til their second. Is their behavior the same? Generally females are more docile.

Embdens are known for being aggressive, I wouldn't ever recommend hand-raising an embden gosling. I have 5 adults who were all parent-raised. One hisses at me from time to time but the rest mainly just try to get out of my way.

Mine both hiss. Both have become aggressive but one does seem to be worse than the other. Almost like it is protecting the other one.

I have a pair of embdens. The male hisses if I get anywhere near them and will walk towards me while she hangs behind. She decided to go broody in the chicken coop and is running the hens out. She also killed a 7 week old banty that came too close to the nest. So I'm trying to fix that situation. They are beautiful and they do a decent job keeping the neighborhood stray cats out of the yard. I got them because I had cats taking naps in my laying boxes. Between the aggression towards me and the chickens and cleaning out baby pools every day, I'm wondering if its worth the hassle.
