When my chicks peck me, should I peck back?

I am a newbie and just started raising chicks in June. I have been petting them and providing hand treats as much as I can. So I didnt think about this topic until this week when I started getting pecked like crazy on my hand. I found this post and its been very helpful. In basically a day, I have become the alpha. Great advice.

I had a similar experience with one of my chickies when they were still in the brooder, and the gentle peck technique stopped it completely. It even kept her from flying at the other chicks while I was handling them, which she had started doing and abruptly stopped after I "pecked" her. Very interesting thread.
