when postal workers can't read.....

I, too, only put fragile on the box, and Ive had all my shipments arrive with little or no loss. I think you can just put a red flag on a box if you put Hatching Eggs on it.

I'm telling ya.... they are doing it on purpose. They dont care about their jobs and certainly dont care about anyone but themselves. With the state of the economy, senseless crimes are going to increase. Mark my words.

Generalize much?

I have received several other batches of eggs through the mail this winter, and I think most were marked "eggs" and "fragile". Two eggs were broken in one other box, but there was no external damage on that box and for the most part the other boxes have arrived in good shape.

I dunno what happened to this one, but it was impressive!

My local postal workers felt horrible about it. Today when I called about another box, they remembered who I was and asked about how the eggs were doing (the squashed box arrived last week). So I certainly don't blame them for it. Just bad luck somewhere along the way!

I picked up a box of spotted Mexican quail eggs at the post office last week, and I kid you not, the lady slammed the box down in front of me like she was hammering a nail. I froze, the next words out of my mouth were, "You must have a bunch of spotted quail eggs at the house to be slammin' mine down like that" the only response I got out her was a giggle and a smirk. The box was very clearly marked, and thank God the man I bought 'em from added 3 as a bonus, because 4 were crushed. So I feel your pain.

I shipped out two boxes of eggs last Tuesday, one solid week ago. Both Priority. The one going to MD made it in two days. The one going to VA is still MIA. Dont know when or if it will ever show up anywhere.

I been told the same thing by the postal people at my local office.
I dont even let them know I am shipping fudge or HFS.

"Anything perishable?" them

"Nope" me

I am sorry that happened. It is just wrong to do that to any ones property

I was told to actually write eggs and fragile on them. Mine normally make it fine and I don't think it's special b/c of working there.

That box looks like it got caught in a machine, to be honest. Not everything is hand done. There are a lot of machines in the process of getting to and from their location.

And alot of those machines can be bypassed if need be.

* Neighbor to a postal employee that works on those machines and has told me that they try not to put anything marked "WARNING EGGS" through those machines. It can mess them up if they break open and ooze. Costing USPS more money
