I agree, every animal needs water or some kind of liquid.They must be getting water somehow, otherwise they would be long dead.
Chicks should always have access to fresh water. Don't give them cold water, but room temperature or even a bit warm.
What food do they have? And what does the brooder setup look like?
in this case i'm wondering if they even have food..Freshly hatched chicks with zero water for a whole week??? How are they alive?! Is he feeding wet mash?
