Hey everyone,
I am still on the long learning curve when it comes to backyard poultry. I have never had chickens that are close to laying before so things are really new to me. I have done some reading on the forum and searched through many topics. Maybe something is not right?
Right now I have some hens that are 19 1/2 weeks old they were sold to me as "Red Sussex" but I was informed they are not???
here is the thread link https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4520433#p4520433
I have the Nest boxes installed and have been providing them with a layer feed, as well as oyster shells and grit inside and plenty of water.
I have an open coop style right now as our weather here in the summer can get hot, but as of the past week it has been very rainy!
Is there anything else I should or could do or is this just a case of wait and see?
Cheers!
