I have a 4 month old Pekin/white layer cross who just laid her first egg this past week. A couple of months ago she was on antibiotics. So it’s been 2 months antibiotic free. How long do I need to wait- or should I wait to safely consume her egg?

Help. My duck started laying one egg per day about 5 months ago (we are in Texas so it’s hot) and now she doesn’t always lay. It was hot when she started We provide several areas for her to have shade, pool, and quiet. She was lying every night in her coop but now sometimes there’s just a random egg maybe even in the middle the yard. What am I doing wrong

You may want to create your own post in order to get more responses. But there is no guarantee of laying out of ducks or chickens. Any change in environment, or any number of things, could contribute to a gap in laying. It does not mean you are doing anything wrong.

On ducks first starting to lay, regardless what they have had, we wait until a dozen eggs have laid and then eat.

If ducks are not laying it’s either too hot or they stop laying because of absence of a drake. Same goes for all waterfowl.
All our ducks have laid consistently, drake or not. I know people think differently about this but that’s been my experience.

Withdrawal time depends on what antibiotic and how much you gave, but I am pretty sure that after 2 months it's okay to eat them now.
