I'm interested to hear you got a packing peanut. I had heard that MPC doesn't do packing peanuts. I've got some shipping on the 21st too - I can't wait.
The packing peanut could have been an accident. I don't know. But we ordered 2 BRs, 3 BSLs, and 3 RIR. That adds up to eight. We have 3 BRs, and that makes it nine. So we got an extra BR somehow. Pics are uploading now.
You want to hear what a real long trip is? The Big Island
Hawaii.I ordered them from MPC they left Ohio to go "fly' out of Michigan to stop on Oahu to arrive here on the island. Trip started Tuesday am arrived here Thursday at postoffice.......whew....................... dianer29

I got 5 chicks from MPC and I was under the impression they don't include packing peanuts because a lot of their customers have tight limits as to numbers and no roos that they are allowed because of urban settings. Kargo may have gotten one by mistake (I doubt) or more likely because of previous request for more that weren't available they knew you could accommodate them. Just a guess???
Also I had heard they ship from Ohio but guy at post office said they did actually ship from Connecticut?? Maybe they somehow use that label even though they don't actually ship from there. Ahhhh the mysteries of life???
Now...where's the pics?
Oh I forgot....mine hatched on a Monday and I received a call from my local post ofc. at around 6:30 am on Wednesday. I'm about 30 minutes SE of Nashville, TN.
I've got an order in for 9/28. I got the 25 EE special! I can't wait!
I swore my brooder was retired for the year, but it was such a good deal. Glad to know the babies arrived okay all the way to Hawaii! I've always ordered from Ideal and MM. This is my first time ordering from MPC.
Really cute chicks. I sure can't wait for mine either. Your brooder looks just like mine. I always set the waterer up on an upside down bowl or block to help keep the shavings out. As long as it is not higher than their back. looks like they are all doing really well.
Very cool. I'm surprised by the number of people who say they got a call from the PO at the crack of dawn. a) I didn't know the PO was even working then and b) I wonder how many people get woken by the call???
Mine typically call me around 7:00 am. It's a little bitty post office way out in the country. I think the peepers drive them crazy. Plus one of the workers there raises birds and he's always curious to see what I've bought.
