I am sure this has come up before but I am new with Chickens. I have 4 leghorns that are 10 weeks old. They have been out in the coop now for two weeks. My next batch are 5 weeks old, a RIR and 5 barred rocks. They have been together now out on the coop for a week. They are getting along ok but still keep within their own flock. My question is when do you think it would be ok to let them out to wander around my property? They are good coming to me when I call them, however I don't know how they wil react when the are loose and I am a bit scared to be honest.
Thanks!

Have plenty of treats. they will most likely follow you anywhere for some treats. A way to a chickens heart is through its stomach. I have a fenced in chicken yard. The birds were getting in my garden and mulch piles and digging everything up so it was either fence in the gardens or fence in the birds. The birds lost. There are pictures on my BYC Page.
