when to switch from starter to layer food

At what age do I switch my ducklings form poultry starter to layer food?

I personally would not move to layer till i see eggs.. i do start to offer free choice oyster shell when they near the 5mths mark.. most ducks lay around 5/6mths season depending.

I started putting out oyster shell on the side when the ducks started playing hop on top. And that was just about exactly one month before the first egg was laid.

Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks says to start with the extra calcium a month before they start to lay.
