When will my broody hen lay again?

She's been off the nest for a week or 10 days. I guess it's about a month since she's laid. When will she recover the urge again?

My broody hens usually take about a week after breaking before they return to lay. But all will be individual... and it will vary. Probably any time now..

If she lost condition at all... maybe longer, what are you feeding?

Did she hatch some chicks...or did you just wait for her to 'get over' being broody?

No chicks. And I took a relaxed approach to it shoving her out of the coop a couple times a day and then, after about a week, closing the door to the coop behind her.

But, update, she finally laid this morning.

I didn't see any deterioration. She ate the regular laying crumbles plus some greens/weeds and sprouted grains.

Usually within a few weeks of weaning the chicks,
...and weaning can be weeks or months after hatch.
