When will my chickens start to lay

I have a california white hen that will be 18 weeks on Tuesday when will she start to lay?

While some breeds lay as young as sixteen weeks, the average is around 24 weeks.

If the comb and wattles are bright red, and you can fit two finger widths between the pelvic points on either side of the vent, you can expect the first eggs soon.
