When will my pullets listen?

I have the stupidest pullets on the planet. When I call them to lock up in the coop they won't follow. They run away from me when I come from them and they try to hide in the bushes. My hens come running to me as soon as I call "chick chick chick!" I pet my hens and hold them. I've picked up and handled these pullets the same way I did my chickens but they are skittish and awnry.

Will they calm down and start listening with age? Or am I cursed with defiant teens?

The other difference is my hens are Americana and Leghorns. My pullets are Wyandotte's and New Hampshire Reds. The pullets are 17 weeks old.

Your pullets are going through their "teenager" routine....they'll eventually "get it" and start acting like the grown-up girls they should be...silly chickens!!
