When will they lay?

I'm clueless about how leghorn girls should look...hopefully someone else will come along and figure it out.

They look nice and healthy.

Do you personally know that they are six months old, or did someone tell you an age?

When I got home and ran the numbers with my husband it appears that I may have been off about 6 weeks so reality they are about 4 to 5 months old.

mine are 4 and a half months old. They look very close to laying but nothing yet. Mine are white cali leghorns so they are sold white with 1-2 small black spots, not all have spots, with red combs and wattles. I dont have a picture of the hens red combs. Bobo the rooster is there in front.

Thanks for the pic. I totally feel better and now that I see your roo. I can definately say we have all pullets. Yeah...

it depends also, on the feed you are feeding them, if the feed does not has enough pritin in it it will take longer for them to lay, also if you are free ranging them a lot and they are ignoring the feed and depending on grass, then laying prosses will be way longer.

those are def leghorns, and dont worry, mine are now 4 months old as well and not laying. I was told anytime AFTER 4 months they would lay ,but it sure is a long wait isnt it?! Yours are a little redder than mine, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that its any day now!

Definitely leghorns. They look just like mine. Mine are right at 14 weeks though. Sure seems a lot longer! My others are 18 weeks.. no eggs yet from them either although I am expecting one soon from my older girls.

Their combs are pretty red so they should be close.

My chickens (21 weeks) are laying... in the nest boxes, in the litter, under the rake stored in the coop, in the corner under the roost.... look around carefully.... I just hope mine aren't also laying in the yard because that would take some hunting among tall weeds and grasses.....

Just for an update i have gotten 2 eggs in the past 2 days. So roughly 22 weeks.
