Wait another 3 weeks? They would still be getting enough light this time of year...
Are they getting enough protein? Enough calcium? What kind of pen are they in...hiding eggs?
I really don't know but I'm trying to troubleshoot some answers. I wonder why your babies won't lay? Hopefully you'll find your first egg in the AM!
Unfortunately, bobwhites don't normally start laying till their second season. You might get some eggs this year, but most likely they won't start until springgtime next year
That's one of the reasons I chose to raise coturnix, that and I couldn't see paying $75 a year for the permit to sell $4 or $5 birds....
my coturnix started laying at 5 weeks there is no artificial lights on them Im still not sure how many hens we have but we got 19 eggs today and they just started laying
I know that we had bobwhites and we gave them away. they wanted to eat each others feet. I didn't like them they were too flighty. They were 6 weeks old. so I have no idea when they will start to lay. I know that it says online that it takes up to 6months for them to start to lay.
