There's another topic on here that's called something like "Had a heart to heart talk with my girls"...there are some humorous suggestions on what to tell your chickens to get them to start laying.
Aside from that, I have a chicken friend in my city who just suggested I go to the auto parts store, buy one of those 8X11" sheets of mirror (like plastic, that you can cut to adhere on to a broken side view or rear view mirror instead of buying a new glass mirror), cut in half and put it up in the coop where your chickens should lay. He said they like to be around other chickens when laying, and that the mirror makes them think other chickens are there.
He said that he's convinced the hens to lay in their least favorite spots AND that he'll get about an egg more a day with the mirror. I'm trying it...just bought my mirror for 6 bucks. Anyone else heard about this????
Regardless...it shouldn't hurt for you to give them a good talking to.
