When would they start

My 2 hens are not laying right now. I read that they would normally start laying at 6 to 8 weeks but now it’s been for months🐥
Egg laying in quail is directly related to light hours, comfort level, etc. If they are stressed by overcrowding, too many males, potential predators, etc that can directly effect laying. They also require 14-16 hours of daylight so if kept outdoors or indoors without supplemental light and during short daylight hours, laying can be delayed until enough daylight occurs naturally. Switching feed to a layer feed past 8-10 weeks can also be helpful.

Adorable! For me, I've found that live mealworms along with sufficient light seem to get the hens laying. Still, it will depend on the bird. I had one that took 15 weeks before she started laying.
