When you don't pray...

When people ask for my prayers I give them support: bring them food, call to check on them, wash the dishes, walk the dog, shampoo the carpet, or just sit down with them and shed tears as they share their woes. One must remember when someone asks for your prayers they are really saying, "Please don't forget about me or my loved ones".

All they really want is a true friend who will somehow help them in their time of need. You never know....your actions might be the answer to their prayers. You don't have to believe in God to know how to help a friend. Just be a friend.

"I'll help you any way I can," is usually how I answer a request for prayers.

You can always send good thoughts their way. That's all prayers really are anyway. It's possible that enough good thoughts actually does something.

My Mother would always say she would pray for me. If it turned out good, her prayers were answered. If not we just didn't talk about it.

Ms. PK, it is just fine to let someone know they are in your thoughts. Quite often when people ask for prayer, I never even post unless it is clear they are distraught. When I ask for prayer, I am equally thankful for those that let me know they are concerned about me as I am those that pray.
