where are the wonderful st. louis area chicken people ????

Sorry we missed the backyard chicken fun. I had to work and we're planning to build our coop this Saturday, so spare moments have been taken up with planning.

Have fun building your coop and make it bigger than you think you need because you will end up with more chickens.

We're building the coop 6x8, and the run should be about 8x10 plus 6x8, I'm not sure how much square feet that makes it, but hopefully they'll have enough room. We're hoping to raise two Turkeys as well, but won't buy those until later in the spring (don't want them to big).

Your 6x8 coop is 48 square feet and your run is 128 square feet. Your coop and run can comfortably hold 12 chickens. I'm not sure the square footage requirements for a turkey.

Well it was cold and rainy, so we only worked half a day in the garage. We got the roof assembled and the floor framed out. Lots more to do, but we're gonna wait until it warms up again before doing a lot more. I hope our girls don't out grow their swimming pool before it warms back up.
