Need I say more? I live in MA.....
Do an internet search for "YOUR COUNTY, YOUR STATE". for instance: Laramie County, WY
Make sure to go to the Official site.
The county websites typically have links to the local regulations. They may even have a Frequently Asked Questions link that may explain the reg's easier.
Try looking your area up on www.municode.com
Just a hint. Do not go to the local police station and inquire. They may give you an answer, but there is a good chance it will be the wrong one. Knew a fellow once who asked at the police station and was told that he did not need a drivers license, plates or insurance for his motor scooter. You guessed it. Three days in jail, and huge fines.
Do your own research.
Go to your City Hall or township office. Ask questions about what you're interested to know about. Someone there should have answers, or know where to find them. If you're already keeping chickens or building something, don't offer that information up to them...just in case the laws aren't in your favor. You wouldn't want to shoot yourself in the foot.
