Where Can I Get Black Silkies?

I want a Black Silkie but it HAS to be a hen and I have to be able to order only a couple of that kind. What hatchery can you suggest? McMurray only has straight run Silkies.

I'm not sure there are any hatcheries that sell sexed Silkies because bantams are just too small to be accurately sexed. Your best bet may be to adopt an adult hen - have you tried posting a WTB ad in the auction section?

Supposedly, MyPetChicken has them. How accurate their sexing of day old chicks would be, I don't know. Silkies are one of the hardest breeds to sex.
