Where can I learn how to Vent Sex chicks? I've got as far squeezing out the poop!

I've spent hours looking on YouTube and I'm very comfortable handling the chicks. I'm comfortable holding them in the correct way and I've squeezed out the poop...but I just can't tell if I've pushed hard enough or if everyone I've looked at is just simply female (probably not) ...

So if you're good at vent sexing can you help me learn or tell me where you learned from?

I wouldn’t. It’s dangerous and can kill them without knowing what you’re doing.

That's why I want to learn to do it right. I don't really mind if I have to wait a week or two but from what I understand it's better to do it at a few days old

Understandable. Just realize the risk involved when you first start out. It’s very difficult and dangerous.

I don't personally know how.

But you could try buying or breeding sexlink chicks (both genders) to learn on-- that way you can easily check yourself.

Probably best way to learn is just hands on with something like that. Its something I'd like to learn also. The people that can do it had to learn somehow im sure they didn't just sit and squeeze a tennis ball. And I'm sure some animals were killed in the process of learning. But you could get a few golden comets from tractor supply and use them, you'll know they're female so if you ever see one of another breed thats different that'll be your boy.
