Where did they come from???

Pics
A cup? Not sure what you mean by a tumbler... I've never composted a thing. The thought of decaying stuff near my house just didn't sound appealing to me. lol So I'm really at a loss for understanding the concept.
I will go outside and take a picture. I was not willing to spend $200 for one of these but for $50 bought off craigslist I was willing to give it a try.

If done right, compost will never stink.;) I use deep litter in my winter housing and it never smells. Now all I need are pigs to finish it in the spring.

simple composting letting whatever age for fertilizer we turn it weakly with a pitchfork
they do sell these darn things that you turn but like a box of plywood about 4 x 4 - 2 side by side animal ie chicken goes in one house goes in the other our first compost is ready to garden next year

That logic just escapes me...lol How can rotting stuff not stink? Flies...how are the flies? I hate flies...I mean...I HATE FLIES.... :)

They hold a ton.
60 gallons maybe.
I can't remember.
I bought them from a juice bar by the beach who didn't read anything about composting and the balance you have to achieve with "greens and Browns". What they were doing was just filling it up with waste juice pulps. Imagine the smell in the heat.
The guy who sold it to me said that it smelled like the back alley of a frat house and the flies were insane.

I gladly took it off his hands.
So far it's working. One side is amost ready to use. They other is only 1/3 full and will stay in there until deep into the summer probably.
So far no smell at all but I do try to balance what I put in there. And yes. Some wood chips are going in too.
They are breaking down pretty well because I'm adding a compost enzyme that is microbial and gives things a boost.
