When we introduced a new dust bath for our guys, I found a YouTube video of a hen dust bathing and played it for them beside the new area. (Yes, I guess we have Millennial chickens ) They were very interested in the 'I found a good bathing area' calls! Within about half an hour they were using the one we set up.

Sadly they don't and water will freeze in the hose.

Welp...my dumb-designed water thingy had ice in the trough. Not solid, thank God...but solidified enough that I had to poke holes in it and fish out the chunks. Playing with water when it is 9 degrees does NOT make me happy.

A milestone? Yesterday, I'm toiling with the waterer and dog bowl wires...getting them out of the way...and out of the corner of my eye I see Mr. King flapping his wings. I turn to look...and by golly....the little fella is on top of little Bashful...uh...bumping uglies!

Question...if he's doing the deed, does this mean Bashful is going to give a stinkin' egg soon? Or is King just doing the deed because he can....?
