Where do you keep your chicks?

I built a 4x8 teepee looking brooder for mine. Just put a tarp over half of it. Just put hay, food, and water in there. Broody hen makes it a cinch with the care. Highly recommend it.

I'm brand new to this but, mine are in the laundry room. If i didn't have 5 cats they'd be in the kitchen where i wouldn't have to go looking "well they've been too quiet for a bit time to run and check (literally run)". I'm still waiting for my new corral to arrive, have them in a 1900s style bath basin now, then they MAY move to the garage but i'm wanting to pet them too much...we'll see.

I made a brooder to fit inside my spare bathroom tub, about 18x39 or so. The garage varies too greatly through the day for temp so this was the only thing I could think of. They are 3 weeks old yesterday and this is working for now. They are getting big and fisty though so I need to finish the coop and hopefully get them out there soon. Then I just need to finish the run...does it ever end?!

I have brooded every chick, duckling, poult and gosling I have ever owned inside my house. Keeping them clean, dry, and raising on sand is the way to go for me, and it doesn't make the whole house dusty or stinky.

We made our brooder in our utility/wash room. They seem comfortable. Can't wait to get them outside though. Very dusty. Only 2 more weeks to go!!

We keep ours in a homemade brooder in the garage. We have a wide age range so we have it split into two, one side for the newbies and the other for older chicks. We also had five laying hens in a 5'X10' dog pen in there until we could finish the coop. :)

I keep my babies (6) in a dog crate in my basement sewing room. The door closes to the rest of the basement which is pretty cold.
Between the brooder lamp and the little ceramic heater the room stays nice and warm.

No birds in the house here! Nevermore, never never never. Chicks are brooded in the barn. It's not insulated but a heat lamp does just fine, as good as a momma hen would do.

Mine are in the garage and they are stinky! I have two young kiddos so cleaning every day is out of the question! When we build our master coop it will have a section to keep the chicks though. They should be outside IMO. They are barnyard animals. But its way to cold and we don't have a secure place out there. So they will be in the garage until its a little warmer :)
