where does everyone get there egg cartons

I use re-cycled egg cartons from family, friends, customers...etc...if they are dirty or stained. I immediately trash them. TIP: the cardboard ones will cause roaches, do not keep them too long in the house. I have never had them, but one of my friends down the road told me..she had 100's in her barn...well I am staying away from her barn....LOL

Cardboard cartons can be washed with a quick swish through hot water. Cardboard cartons do not cause roaches. Damp wet conditions attrack roaches. Roaches by the way are related to crickets.

Eggcartons.com has clear plastic cartons that made out of recycled pop/water bottles. My customers can just put them in the recycling bin. I like the 4x3 size. Perfect for a homemade label and I can show off my pretty egg colors from the EEs and welsummers.

I can't condone putting something in the recycleing bin if it can be reused. One way or another it ends up in the landfill. I really wonder how much of what goes into the recycleing bin really ends up getting recycled. Does anyone have data that verifies it.

I do have customers who give me their cartons back. It does save me money...I still like the idea of using a carton that is made out of recycled product.

As far as items placed in the recycling bin being dumped in the landfill instead- that might be a question for your local waste management company or a watchdog group. I just have chickens and am trying to do the right thing with egg cartons...

I ordered some of these on Wednesday and they arrived just one day later!

I am thrilled with how quickly they got them to me, especially since I'm not even in the same state!
