Where exactly

Hmm,now I'm kind of wondering.
I'll post a picture tonight in the, "what breed is this" forum.

A seven month old red broiler cockerel should be HUGE. Have you weighed him yet? Are you certain he's a red broiler? If you got them from feed store he could be a production red that got mixed in by accident.
Colored broilers have a very long keel and so the breast meat is spread over a larger area then a CornishX, which has a somewhat shorter, thicker breast. So they can carry a lot more breast meat than it seems at times.

He weighed roughly 6 pounds.
I gave them a little game bird feed with grain in it in the morning and in the evening. Took a picture next to my 60 pound pitbull for size comparison. He does running around a lot after the ladies and at times tries to mate with the dog. :hmm

Still, a meat bird cockerel at 7 months should be closer to 10lbs I'd think.

That's what I was thinking 10 to 12 lbs. at least. OP the red rangers cockerels I've grown out are around 6 lbs at about 10 weeks old.
I think what you have there is a production red cockerel. Besides the weight, his shape is off and the legs are much too thin for a broiler.
