I keep mine in galvanized metal garbage cans, which (so far) have not been broken into. Be careful that the garbage can lid doesn't have holes around the handle because water does get in. Silicon does work for plugging if you can't find a lid where the handle is welded to the outside.Mine's in the garage in a plastic bin but the mice can get to it in the winter, and squirrels/chipmunks in the summer. Thinking of getting metal trash bins but leaving outside by the coop. Bad idea?
A metal trash can is what works here. Since the handle on the lid will leak if outside i siliconed it shut. I leave mine in the open in my run in case i spot a wandering coyote or migrating hawks. Ratlle the can and the rooster calls them in. Rodents eat through everything else here.Mine's in the garage in a plastic bin but the mice can get to it in the winter, and squirrels/chipmunks in the summer.
