i store mine in the original bag inside of an old 12 gallon crock that sits in the hall right off of my kitchen. I used to store it in a metal can with straps to hold the lid shut inside my barn....different location/situation now.

Ooooh I'll have to give those a look then! That sounds pretty ideal.I love the Vittels Vaults that I purchased from Amazon last year. I keep them under the tractor port next to my chicken yard. They protect from bugs, rodents, and humidity. The food definitely stays fresher. I keep three of these in assorted sizes for food, meal worms, and oyster shell. The large vv holds a 50lb sack of feed with no problem.
Prior to this I was keeping feed in the bag inside a heavy duty outdoor storage box. It stayed dry, but I had an ongoing problem with ants. I'm glad I bought the vittels vaults.
