It doesn't have to be black or white, I guess is my point. I want to encourage the OP to get the most she can from life. Yet, there are times we may not find the perfect job, in the perfect place, under all the perfect circumstances we've set forth. That's life, right?
So you hit the highlights and make the best of what you are able to find. Tying your happiness to external things, work, location, etc. is a recipe for dissatisfaction - no matter where you are or what you do.
Obviously there are some pretty awful jobs and some pretty bad places.... but that doesn't really apply to the OP. She has lots of options.
Just remember, happiness is within. It is a state of mind.
To borrow from the song again:
"If you can't have just what you want,
Then love what you are able to get."
Thanks for all your wisdom Daveroo, I really appreciate it!!!
I have much to be thankful for and as long as my daughter and I are together, everything will be fine, but I've had jobs that I hate and jobs that I love, and life is much, much better when you have a job you love. I have lived places I love, and lived places I hate and life is much better somewhere you love.
If I had to make do I could, and I most definitely would. I guess since this is the first time in my life I actually got to CHOOSE vs. haveing to move for job or husband etc... I was trying to get the most out of it... hope that makes sense.
It does. It makes perfect sense to review options, especially when having them is a new thing. I can relate.
And I believe you've already solved your problem way back - ALASKA. It is your lifes dream, I believe you said, remember?
Sometimes we get hesitant or spend time looking around when we already know what we want.
I vote for Alaska. Im sure they could use your skills up there.
