I had them in the laundry room for the first night and wow were they loud, I had to move them to the other end of the house.

And the bathroom is perfect for all the reasons posted by schmije

I will be setting mine up this week with chickys due next Sunday the 19th. My DH had our front porch glass enclosed and turned into a sunroom. I actually fought with him about this because I felt it was a waste of money with us going into this recession and all. But now that I have chickys coming, it's going to be perfect for brooding them! In a box of course.
Now I'll be able to sit out and have my coffee while clucking to my babies.

Ours are in our sons closet. It's almost walk-in sized. I hung the lamp from the bar and they are in a 35 gallon rubbermaid container. The door has a child lock on it (son is 3) and since we only have 4 chicks they are pretty quiet. I'm making the coop asap and they'll go there as soon as it is done. It's the City Biddy coop.

Thanks for all the input!! It's interesting where people have been putting the brooders! I didn't realize they created THAT much dust. I may put them in the house for a week and then out the garage or in the basement near a window.
