Where to put the food?

So my 5 week old pullets are enjoying their run, though I had to bring them out. My question is, once they start going out in the run on their own, do I need to put their food out there with them or will they go in the coop to get it when they are hungry?

My run is covered, so i have food & water both inside and out.....

Do most people put food out inside and out?

My run is covered ... food stays in the run.
Coop opens into run ... pop door is always open.
The girls go into the run if they're hungry or thirsty.
The only food I put in the coop is black sun flower seeds so they'll scratch up the litter.
I use the deep method.

Don't you get critters in the food at night if you keep it in the run?

The only critter I've found in the run is a dead mouse that was pecked to death!
Our run is completely enclosed - sides and top - pretty much critter resistant!
