Where to Spend Your Economic Stimulus Check...

We plan to stimulate our savings account.

Or maybe go to the fabric store...THEN put the rest in savings.

I'm using ours to help build a new chicken pole barn w/ 4 different runs.

Of course my DH said that would be the best way to spend it since I will spend most of my time out in the barn and not bothering him.

well since I cant have a cow or goat I will go get milk and cheese at the farmers market (something I usually cant afford), and I will try to spend at just local foods for stocking up on staples.

That is usually my splurge when I have extra is to get food. I also agree with the writer and I hate Walmart

but I have been known to go there very seldom for something small.

Hmpf, paying the bill to have a defective burner replaced on my 2 year old furnace. The 50 year old one never broke down, I wish I never "upgraded."

I am buying euros. The US dollar is decaying so fast, that is the only way to maintain value.

This stimulus plan is a lot of bologne. The only economies that will be stimulated will be those of the Chinese and Arabs.

Keynsian economics work only in closed economies. We have a world economy now. The fed lowers the discount rate, and it only makes it cheaper for the Chinese and Arabs to borrow our money to buy up our country and industry.

Then they turn around and buy T bills. They own our national debt.

When the government prints excessive amounts of money just to attempt to pump up the economy, it produces inflation.

It is insane to save money nowdays. You cannot get enough interest off of your deposits to off set the inflation.

Don't buy anything made in China. Go to the second hand store and buy something used that was made in the USA.

Yup, you're right. And a one-time check? What the heck's that going to do? Nothing for me. Didn't want a gov't handout anyway. There's always a catch when they want to "help".​

call it what you want, but in my case that is what it is!
My plan? save a bit more into my emergency fund.
Money to replace the front fence.

I already spent as much of my stimulus check as I plan to spend. I bought a used Mantis tiller on Craigslist earlier in the week. I have already tilled a new vegetable garden and will begin to plant a few things this weekend. Our weather can be really fickle so I don't want to plant everything right now.

I have put my household on a tight budget to try to counteract the high cost of gas, groceries and ...well EVERYTHING!

Not having to buy so much at the grocery store should have a positive effect on my bottom line!
