Where would you live?

We're living there. Colorado, beautiful mountains, sunshine 320 days a year, avg around 45 during the winter. Of course it's 70 one day and 20 the next, snows 2 or 3 times a month from Oct to Mar., snow is always gone in a few days except shade spots. Cost of living about 1/2 of west coast or new england depending on where in those areas. No humidity and it's a blue state. Woops I didn't say that.

I like where I am right now. The house will change to acreage, and maybe I'll move 15 minutes closer to the coast, but that's about it. We did a ton of research and hunting before settling on this place 5 years ago, and though not perfect (where is?), it's been good for us. We fit in here, there are bike trails, hiking, and a great farmers market, the kids are thriving in school, we have good friends, and it's gorgeous. We love rain, too, so that helps. So, this is home.

I'd stay here in Portland. I moved here just to be here 15 years ago, and wouldn't change a thing. Though I'd consider upgrading to a better neighborhood in the city. I had pretty much traveled most this country over before making the decision, and really nowhere else really came close. To this day I still don't regret the decision.

Hate to admit it but there are a number of places I'd rather live than here.

I love it here from September to February.

It cools down enough in Sept. to make it nice. It stays cool until May, but I suffer terribly from allergies and I wish I could move out of Phoenix from the about the 2nd week of February until the 2nd week in June. June, July and August are OK if you are inside or in the pool, but it's hotter than hades.

I'd love to have 50 acres near Meadow Vista, CA, or Grants Pass, OR, or Heber, AZ or Nauvoo, IL or Palmyra, NY or a large ranch with lots of irrigation water available somewhere near San Diego, CA.

Heck I'd just love to be able to move to the 8 acres I own in central Utah, but alas, with a 6 year old, (and 6 other boys) I won't be able to retire until I'm at least 72. I enjoy what I do, but I would love to retire and breed and hatch chickens, have some small milk cows, perhaps a hampshire pig or two, a nice fruit orchard (Apples, pears, peaches, cherries with a few rows of raspberries, strawberries, some blueberries.

Time to go out with a flashlight and put up and chickens that didn't make it onto the roosts.. putting that rooster in the coop really changed the dynamics of the flock.

I love WA State. I was raised here and intend to stay here. Cost of living in western WA is high, but eastern WA is agricultural and less expensive. Same goes for Oregon. SW Oregon is beautiful.
