Ours are in an old fireworks stand building about 30 feet from the house. It is about a 12 x 20 foot building.
It is kinda cramped in there right now, we have been talking about cleaning all the storage junk out of it and putting in more brooders. We have 5 stackable brooders in there right now. We only keep the chicks in there for a week or two at the most and then put them on the ground in one of our brooder rooms at the barn.

This is one of the brooders we use in the brooder rooms. Thanks to Robert Plamondon for the idea! It is the best thing since pockets on a shirt!!!

Mine is in the living room where the kids can be a part of what's going on and it's easier to keep an eye on.

When they hear the turner come on everything stops while they watch it move the trays.

Mine is in my craft room. The grandbabies (they are 1 now) are starting to get into everything now so i figured in there with the door shut they can't get to it.

well, i put mine in the upstairs bedroom, my first thought was that it would keep me from tinkering too much. now my second thought is, i really better have some nice legs because it hasn't stopped me one bit...we have it on a table surrounded by chairs so we can watch, we have two lg's, and the brooder is right beside it. what a blast!!

I use horse stalls for my babies until they are ready for the great outdoors.....I only have 2 horses that are using the 6 I have. I tell ya chickens are way cheaper to bed in a stall

I'll second the Ohio Extension Brooder that Rafter Seven has pictured above. I've been using one myself for several years now. They are wonderful if you have a lot of birds to brood.

I keep my incubator in my bedroom, away from small hands...and small paws. Plus, the sound of the incubator helps me sleep!
