Like I said....I'de love to ask more, I feel like my eggs are worth more. BUT, we have other local sellers who only ask a $1.00 a dozen and If i'm going to sell them I'm might as well be competive....

Domestic_goddess is right. All of us who sell our eggs in the $1.00 range, would love to "Up Our Price". But due to the OUR local markets being saturated with people who sell eggs or sellers who sell their eggs for only $1.00 a dozen, it's easier said than done. I am very happy for those egg sellers that can sell their eggs for $3.00, $4.00 and $5.00 a dozen. It's easy to say 'Up The Price' but then who is going to buy a higher priced item. Depending on where you live, eggs are a dime a dozen. In my neck of the woods, eggs are like bottled water. They are on every shelf. We have more farmers and more backyard chicken owners who have eggs than you would believe. People advertise on Craisglist selling a dozen eggs for $1.00. So who would seek out someone who sells eggs for any higher than that? Not one single person would do that. So it's best to sell your eggs for what you can. Sellers should try to get back at least some money to buy a few bags of feed, then to give your eggs away all the time. Now, don't get me wrong. I do give my eggs away to those who need it but that can be VERY costly if done on a regular basis. It's a nice gesture to give to shelters, etc and I'm all for that but at the same time, you're not getting anything back to continue to buy feed so that you can continue to provide to shelters, etc. I think it's ok to give to these local food bank, shelters, etc every now and then but not all the time.

I guess I got a bit off track and away from the thread but I see so many people saying "Up your price", "Up your price", "Up your price" and they tend not to know or understand why some of our prices are the way they are. So, I always try to put in my 2 cent worth of experience as far as egg pricing. Hope that I didn't offend anyone but just trying to explain pricing in different areas/states/cities, etc.
