which breed of chickens has the best colour combination?

It's all a matter of personal taste. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of partridge roosters (though I think the hens are gorgeous!) or solid colored birds. Not that I find them unattractive, per say, but they just aren't the prettiest IMO. I am a sucker for crele roosters, and I like most mottled/spangled and barred birds.

Henk, what kind of chickens are those? They are sooo pretty. Looks like another breed I have to have. LOL......will it ever end??

the first look like silver campines and the second are lakenvelders. I'm not sure what those last ones are. I really like silver ,buff, and gold laced birds they are very strikeing. Oh and lavender orps

About my pics:
Top: braekel, a belgian breed, precursor to campines. These are probably the german exhibition type, pretty long legs.
Mid: lakenvelder cockerels.
Bottom: vorwerk bantams, a new color created by me: white patterned instead of black patterned. Not bad for 2 generations of breeding...

Due to the dark ages of european exhibition poultry they won't have a change of being recognized though.

Best color combination? It depends on what you like. B^) I'm actually rather fond of old fashioned Barred Rocks. I also like the looks of a NH. My color choices tend to be based on predator evasion and looking like good old honest utility stock. I can't help it - I'm part redneck.
