Which breeds of Chickens are friendliest and which are Not?

Hi All,
I was wondering which do you all think are the more friendliest/social breeds with humans and which do you find to be non-social/mean ones? Please post on here your opinions. Thank you, Julie

i think pekin and silkies are the most friendly but it depends on how much they are handled

Well the reason I was asking is that I do have some silkies and some frizzles but I was wanting to get some other breeds too. I heard Wyandottes are friendly but I'm not so sure how they would interact with the little guys. I'm also interested in Cochins, Brahmas, Barred Rocks, and Leghorns....is this a mistake to mix these with the silkies and frizzles? Julie

leghorns arent they are rather flighty wyandottes are and they go with smaller ones too

We have Leghorns, RIR, Buff Orps, Blk. 'Lorps, Silver Penciled Wyandottes, White and Barred Rocks, Minorcas and Aracaunas...Plus we have 3 kids - 3,6,8. My favorite are the Buffs. They are broody, but the kids can handle them when they are off the nest. They are easy to pick up and aren't flighty. The Rock hens would be my next pick - but not the roosters. Good luck!

My Dominiques and black sex links are both good with my kids .Even my Dominique Roo is easy to get along with (no attacks so far - even when I play with his GIRLS) . My small pullets (Dom & Black sex links) 4 wks old jump all over me ( Playing & Roosting on my arms) when I feed them. If you want some standard size Pullets , the guy I got mine from is just outside hernando @ Lamar chicken farm on Holly Springs road.

Barred Rocks and Buff Orpingtons are my friendliest breeds, with Wyandottes right after those. The Orps are the friendliest to younger birds, though. Motherly, even.

the red sex link breeds are really friendly (my opinion). also the black sex links are really tame. i had a barred rock that would jump on my arm and get on my shoulder. RIR are the best too. Well mostly the heavy breed ones are ( maybe because they like when you give them food lol). I have a leghorn and she is the wildest chicken i have ever had. Almost as wild as my guineas that i used to have. I cant handle wild chickens lol.
