Bahh! Why do their tails look like that? I noticed the same thing with them all day long, which was what made me finally break down and take some pics. And none of my Welsummers have the pointy tails, they all look like a little sticky uppy fan deal.
Don't know.. each breed is a little different when it comes to sexing.

Well the upside is it seems to be easier to find roosters that people are looking to rehome than it is to find hens.

You would think, right? But I'm actually limited to the breeds of rooster I would potentially take, AND believe it or not, there seems like a lot of people around here downsizing and getting rid of their whole flocks! Or yesterday I saw (what looked like) an Australorp girl who's laying well, but not getting along with her flock. :/ So like, I can't go there with all the risk that's involved for one - possibly disagreeable - mature hen whose now older and bigger than everyone else. :/

But if I had space, I have seen people getting rid of so many hens, I could have started a whole second flock. Idk who is willing to take on that kind of risk mixing flocks these days, they'd almost have to find someone who is just getting set up but doesn't have birds yet. Which is what I told my brother to do! 🤷
