Unless you're old enough to either vote or drink, I consider you a child. May not be the most popular rule of thumb, but tis my rule of thumb.

Young adult literature is meant for those between 18 and 35, so that's when I consider a child to be a young adult.

I said young woman or young lady may be a better term

she can handle herself either way
