Isn't there something with French where an "e" makes the noun feminine, or something? It's French, right?
Not really. So each noun is either masculine or feminine, and that never changes. For example, the word "chat" (cat) is masculine, while the word "pomme" (apple) is feminine. But what does change is the adjective, or the "describing word" basically. So, if I wanted to say "A small cat", I would say "Un petit chat". But if I wanted to say, "A small apple", then I would say, "Une petite pomme". (Notice that the articles (un, and une in this case) change as well, depending on if the word is masculine and feminine).
