Which came first: the chickens, or.....the coop?

Chicks here, too.. Coop still isn't done and they're at 6+ weeks old.. Blasted weather has prevented my progression.

Got the chicks first. Their rapid growth certainly motivated me to build the coop faster than otherwise, however it still took forever to build the coop, and I'm not yet done with the run!

With my first group, we had the coop first. I obsessed about them having every little thing they needed (almost like when I was preparing for my human babies!). Then, with this last group I got the chicks first, and have been playing housing catch-up since. At least for the next round of chicks, I will have something for each growing stage. If I don't fill them all up. sigh.

It was supposed to be chicks first but the poults were calling me at TSC. Then came the chicks and last but not least the coop.

OHHH definitely the chickens! we get the chicks and then build accordingly...

I have an existing coop where first there came the coop...

But now I have 11, 4 week old chicks and the coop was just finished TODAY!

Good thing too! This morning the kids totally trashed the brooder box! I woke up to insane peeping and the food and water had been tossed all over the place. Not a crumble or drop of water in either dish! I think there must have been a rock concert in my sunroom during the wee hours.
