Which diagonal at trot?

Hello!
If there are any horse people on here, can someone please explain to me a diagonal?
I watched some YouTube videos and I'm kinda starting to pick up on it, but I definitely need a lot more practice! Does it matter which diagonal I should be posting on when I'm trotting straight?

When crossing the diagonal, you should be changing diagonal at X

So sit for two beats of the trot, and resume posting. This changes your post to be sync with your horse’s change in direction. Hope that helps!!!!

Also, while Youtube can be helpful, in my experience a trainer is the best. If you are dedicated to riding, it is in your best interest and your horse to develop proper skills from a professional who can watch you, correct bad habits and explain things!!!!
