So sadly my last duck passed away yesterday and I was wondering what duck breed I should get next? It doesn’t have to be fancy or flashy I just want a duck on the quiet friendly side. I had a Welsh Harlequin and she was loud. Also should I go with male or female? I’ve never had a male duck before but I’ve been told they are more quiet then the females!

Ducks need companions, so whatever gender you get, I would get two. Males are much quieter than females, so you can go with pretty much any breed, unless you want eggs. What exactly are you looking for?

I’m looking for more of a pet. I mean eggs would be great but they’re not a necessity. Would two males be ok together? They’re not like roos are they?

I’m getting 3 khaki Campbell ducks next week , they are timid but follow you around . I’m wanting egg layers though, you want a pet

Good luck with your search

I’ve heard Drake’s can hump anything around them including your chickens and dogs

Two drakes can do just fine together, but I do not recommend housing them with chickens. As @snow5164 stated, they would attempt to mount your hens and potentially hurt them in the process; it's best to have a separate pen to accommodate them. Drakes are quiet in general and any breed you get raised with lots of human contact will more than likely be friendly, so is there any breed in particular your interested in? I'd be happy to give any helpful information. :)
