Which Haflinger would you choose?

Just because he is a handsome guy. This is the stallion they are both bred to.

I, personally, like the second mare. She looks bigger around to me. Could just be that she has baby weight on her, but she just looks like a worker. The other one, just looking at the pic, looks dainty and...pissy...no that's not the word. Primpy.

Have you thought about contacting the National Haflinger Association for what you want? Locate a few breeders or owners that are needing to down size or close. I have seen matched pairs that ride and drive single/double going for $2500.00 to $3500.00 down here in Florida tack included. Breeders are going out of business like crazy all over.

How's the temperament on Halflingers? I am pony weary because I have seen alot of rotten, mean, and disobedient ones. Would these be good prospects for therapeutic riding? I like pony size and to have the strength of draft would be good. Then you wouldn't be putting someone with disabilities up so high. Are they smooth or boingy when you ride them? Those Gypsy's are gorgeous.

Hey! I live about 10 miles from Holmesville - I could do a first inspection for you if you are interested. I have had horses my entire life and am quite familiar with Haflingers. PM me if I can help.

Personally, I like the first mare - she is clean and gorgeous - love her face and classic markings!
