Tornados. They happen year after year and destroy homes and livestock and kill people. Bad earthquakes seldom happen where I live and the little ones I never even notice. They don't scare me.
I am scared of the super volcano too. But there's nowhere you can move that it wouldn't affect you.
I grew up in Alaska and now live in California so earthquakes aren't that scary to me. Tornados are what freak me out. Luckily I don't have to worry about them because they very seldom happen around here (like once every few years) and the ones that do happen are pretty small.
Been through 3 tornadoes, just get out of the way or DUCK!
I guess earthquakes worry me. Drennon Valley is a minor fault line and sometimes we "jiggle" around a lot. But nothing like the last big one in St Louis. Felt like I was riding a surf board and the roar that preceded it was the first time I'd ever heard that with an event.
Tornadoes ?
Volcanoes ?
What about the national deficet ?Type it in your search engine and watch the spending clock !!!!!
Yes Canada has one too almost as bad as the US of A...and seriously folks, if we borrow any more money from China, they are going to walk into the white house someday soon and tell Obama to get out cuz they will OWN every bit of real estate in this country.
We are selling ourselves, our country, every time we borrow from them.
They marched in and took Tibet, and Taiwan, and other countries and one day they will do it here, and THAT is scarier than any earth quake, volcanoe or tornadoe.
I live in the heart of tonado country. When I was a kid they scared me, but they don't really anymore. The only one that I worry about is one that would hit in the middle of the night. Most of the time tho they form late afternoon or early evening so I don't spend too much time fretting about it.
The thing with natural disasters is that there is no way of knowing just how their occurance might affect you. So rather than exerting much energy worrying about what could or might happen, it would be better to "stay paid up, prayed up, and ready to go up".
I lived in Southern California most of my life (40+ years) and have been through too many earthquakes to count. They don't scare me that much. And I made it through
the Los Angeles riots of 1992 and assorted mudslides and wildfires that seem to come with the territory there.
I've since moved to the bottom of tornado alley and close enough to the gulf coast that we get the folks who evacuate when things look scary. The two things that scare me
most are fires (because our next door neighbors' house burned to the ground recently and all we could really do was watch and pray) and the other thing
is 'panic'- when mankind panics over whatever calamity is about to befall us. The rest I can handle and the things I can't handle and can't control I try to not give too much
thought or energy to since it's out of my hands.
And just a note to the folks who are afraid to visit family or friends in earthquake territory... the chances of a major life threatening earthquake happening during your
visit is so small- please don't let earthquakes and that fear keep you away from the people you love. Some things are too precious to let fear stand in your way!
